Home Care Decisions Are Critical

Home care is a very critical component of the continuum of care. After all, certified nursing assistant's usually spend more time with their clients than anyone. They are literally the eyes and ears of your loved one.

In todays insurance fueled medical world, the main objective is to prevent admissions and readmissions to hospitals, principally not before 30 days.

Unfortunately in Ct and many other states, there is virtually no oversight in the industry. The field is becoming saturated with agencies and needs to streamlined. We are not talking about opening a restaurant. We are talking about protecting the safety of our elders or disabled and maintaining a stable quality of life and perhaps improvement.

At Executive Care we feel that mandatory accreditation may be the answer for more proper quality control. This means that each and every agency has a commitment to excellence. Reaccreditation is required every three years.

You are required to follow all policies and procedures and more. It is a very intense and lengthy process but we are speaking of your loved ones life which I believe is very important to each and every son and daughter.

Executive Care has just achieved CHAP accreditation. We are the first and only non medical agency to achieve this in Ct. CHAP is the oldest national accrediting organization located in Washington DC. It was formed in 1965 and part of the process is a 2 day audit at our office and visiting our clients and caregivers.

Families will feel more secure when they realize that their loved ones are being taken care by people who have a genuine concern for their mom, dad or relative.

New Jersey is the first state in the country to implement accreditation to be mandatory. I sincerely believe that CT should follow suit and consider this sooner than later . We must take further precautions for our most valued treasures.
