House Damaged In Stratford Fire
Fire crews found smoke coming from the front door when they arrived at the scene.
STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford house was recently damaged in a fire. Emergency responders received multiple calls around 10:30 a.m. Friday reporting smoke coming off the top of the home on Broadmere Road, according to a fire department news release.
Crews found smoke coming from the front door and discovered furniture on fire in the basement, the news release said. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
"This home did suffer a large amount of smoke damage along with the contents that burned in the basement," Fire Marshal Brian Lampart said in an email.

The fire department sent five engine companies, one truck company and one shift commander to the scene, according to the news release. Bridgeport and Milford assisted with station coverage, and Milford firefighters provided on-scene backup.
The Stratford fire marshal's office is investigating the cause.
