Keepers Gentlemen's Club Sued by Exotic Dancers Over Payment

The Milford topless dance club has been sued by six exotic dancers including a Stratford woman who claim they weren't compensated fairly.

Keepers Gentlemen’s Club located at 354 Woodmont Road in Milford is apparently very profitable and the topless dance club brings in $500,000 annually in gross sales, according to a lawsuit filed by six exotic dancers who used to work there.

The exotic dancers including Sugeily Ortiz, of Stratford and Zuleyma Bella Lopez, of Branford, filed suit against the club’s owners in March claiming they were not even paid minimum wage or allowed to keep all of their tips, according to the Connecticut Law Tribune.

A judge ruled recently that the exotic dancers need to have their case heard by an arbitrator and not a judge, which was the position of Keepers.

Keepers officials have contended that the dancers are independent contractors and not full-time employees.

The dancers’ wage claims may be heard by an arbitrator within a couple of months.
