‘Kids Day’ At Stratford Farmer’s Market Postponed
The Farmers Market at Paradise Green remains open rain or shine, according to officials.
STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Health Department’s Kids Day at the Farmers Market has been postponed due to the weather, officials announced Monday.
The event will now be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30 at Paradise Green in Stratford. While the Kids Day event is postponed, the Farmers Market at Paradise Green remains open rain or shine.
The free Kids Day event provides a variety of healthy activities for the whole family.

“Kids Day is a great event where families can come together to learn about local health and wellness resources available and engage in some exciting activities before heading back-to-school,” Stratford Health Director Andrea Boissevain said in a news release. “It’s also a great time to shop our community farmer’s market for fresh and local produce.”
The event will feature gardening and nature activities, kid’s yoga and Zumba, health information, arts and crafts, giveaways, and more.

Kids Day at the Stratford Farmer’s Market is part of the health department’s “larger initiative to increase interest and access to healthy, locally grown foods as a partner with the Health Improvement Alliance,” according to a news release.
“The Health Improvement Alliance, a coalition of businesses and community organizations, including Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, local health departments, and social service agencies, work together to prevent and reduce obesity, as well as the onset of chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease in the Greater Bridgeport Region,” the news release states.
