Lane Closures Announced For Project On I-95 In Stratford

The state DOT is advising motorists of lane closures that will be in effect for a project on I-95 in Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that electrical maintenance will be performed on I-95 between Exits 31-24 in Bridgeport.

The project is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 15 and be completed on Sunday, May 17.

The project is being performed by United Illuminating.

There will be various lane closures along with rolling roadblocks on Route 8 southbound from Exit 2 B to the I-95 merge and I-95 north and southbound between Exits 31-24 in Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Stratford from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns State Troopers, and Crash Units will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
