Layoffs Start At Sikorsky In Stratford: Report

The layoffs are part of parent company Lockheed Martin's plan to cut 800 jobs in one of its divisions.

STRATFORD, CT — Layoffs recently started at Sikorsky’s Stratford plant as part of parent company Lockheed Martin’s plan to cut 800 jobs in its rotary and mission systems division, according to New HavenBiz.com.

NewHavenBiz reports it wasn’t known specifically how many employees were laid off, and that the layoffs involved salaried workers and no unionized jobs were cut.

Officials said Lockheed Martin’s layoffs were expected to be accomplished through a mix of transfers, attrition, and a “limited number” of job cuts, the Connecticut Post previously reported.
