Longtime Stratford Athletic Director Retires

The athletic director recently retired after 20 years in the position.

STRATFORD, CT — Longtime Stratford High School athletic director Bob Baird recently retired after 20 years in the position, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports Baird has been helping to prepare his successor, Tony DeAngelo, for the position and plans to continue serving as the South-West Conference softball chairman.

Baird, who graduated from Stratford High and began there as a teacher in 1989 after working as a sports editor/writer for the Bridgeport Post, will remain as general manager of the Stratford Brakettes.
