Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Ex-Girlfriend: Stratford Police
Police say the victim was stabbed several times in an assault late Monday night. The suspect is being held on a $1 million bond: BREAKING

STRATFORD, CT — A Brooklyn, New York man has been charged with attempted murder after police say he stabbed his ex-girlfriend several times with a knife during an assault on Dewey Street in Stratford late Monday night. The incident occurred at about 11:22 p.m. on July 10 when Nelson Santiago, 19, confronted his ex-girlfriend outside of a residence in the 200 block of Dewey Street, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti.
Eannotti said Santiago used a knife and stabbed the victim several times before fleeing the scene. Santiago was spotted by an officer near scene and was apprehended after a short foot chase, according to Eannotti. (To sign up for Stratford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The victim was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment and is in stable condition, Eannotti said.

Santiago was charged with attempted murder, second-degree stalking, breach of peace and interfering with an officer. He is being held on a $1 million bond and was brought to court for arraignment on Tuesday, according to Eannotti.
