Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In 2-Vehicle Crash, ID Released: Stratford PD

Police said one person died from injuries sustained in the motor vehicle accident.

STRATFORD, CT — Jason Fonseca-Kennedy, 26, of Waterbury, died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Stratford last week, police said.

At 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 18, police responded to the area of South Avenue and Spada Boulevard to investigate a motor vehicle crash, police said. Upon arrival, investigation determined that a Honda driven by Jamar Blackburn, 37, of Bridgeport exited I-95 south at exit 31 and crashed into a Ford driven by Kennedy, police said. Kennedy was traveling east on South Avenue, police said.

The Ford pickup driven by Kennedy rolled over, and the Honda driven by Blackburn came to rest a distance away on Spada Boulevard, police said. As a result of the crash, the roadways and associated exit ramp were closed for several hours while investigators managed the scene, police said.

On Monday, Kennedy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital, police said. Blackburn was treated for injuries he sustained in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
