Memorial Day 2016: Scouts Stake Flags at Stratford Cemetery

More than 600 flags were placed along the graves of men and women Saturday morning in Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT — In honor of Memorial Day, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from Troop and Pack 75, American Legion Post 42, families, and friends, staked flags at Union Cemetery in Stratford on Saturday morning.

More than 600 flags were placed along graves of men and women who fought for our country, ranging from World War I to present day.

The yearly event is to recognize, remember, and educate the boys about the many men and women who have served our great country.
