New Bridal Boutique Opens in Stratford

The new business is an off-the-rack bridal boutique "with a twist," according to the owner.

STRATFORD, CT — A new bridal boutique “with a twist” has opened in Paradise Green. The Savvy Bride, located at 3567 Main Street in Stratford, is an off-the-rack bridal boutique and the owner says that the “twist” is that all of the designer wedding gowns are 30 to 50 percent off original retail prices.

Every dress is under $2,000 which appeals to budget-friendly savvy brides.

Per The Knot and their 2015 Real Weddings Study, Connecticut is #13 in the top 25 Most Expensive Places to Get Married in the US. The average price of a wedding in CT is $41,692. For this reason, brides throughout the state are looking for ways to save money.

How does it work? The Savvy Bride has built partnerships with premier bridal boutiques throughout Connecticut. These boutiques buy sample wedding dresses each season to showcase in their stores. Once the season ends, the sample dresses get replaced with new and current ones to show.

The Savvy Bride sells the discontinued sample dresses ‘off-the-rack’ straight from these bridal boutiques. These wedding dresses have not been worn in an actual wedding but just tried on their locations.

Off-the-rack means you don’t have to wait for the dress to come in from the designer. You can take your dress home that day. This appeals also to brides that have their big day coming in less than 4 months. It takes 4 months or more to get your wedding dress made and delivered in your size from the designer.
