STRATFORD, CT — The town officially celebrated the opening of a new karate dojo with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week.
Officials held the ceremony and reception at Kempo Karate of Stratford’s new location in Station House Square at 2505 Main Street.
“In 2011, Sensei Thomas Wulffleff opened his first dojo in Fairfield, Connecticut,” Mayor Laura Hoydick wrote in a post on Facebook. “Through its success, he was able to sell his dojo and open another in Harrison, NY in the beginning of 2016, where he teaches to this day. In 2021, after living in Stratford for 3 years, he decided to officially make it home by opening Kempo Karate of Stratford.
