New, Promoted Firefighters Honored In Stratford

Eight new and promoted firefighters were sworn in by Mayor Laura Hoydick during a recent ceremony at Stratford High School.

STRATFORD, CT — Eight new and promoted firefighters were sworn in by Mayor Laura Hoydick during a ceremony last Thursday night at Stratford High School.

“It was an honor to welcome new members to the department and congratulate the promotions of some who have provided the town with over 20 years of service,” Hoydick said. “We are fortunate to have a top-notch first responder team here in Stratford and I appreciate all the work our firefighters do to support our community. Not only in emergency situations, but in every day neighborly actions, the Stratford Fire Department lifts up our town.”

The ceremony included the family members and mentors of the honored firefighters, along with a tribute from the CT Firefighters Pipes and Drums.
