Via the Town of Stratford: STRATFORD, CT — La Fortuna Bar & Restaurant, a family-owned restaurant located in Stratford’s Oronoque Shopping Plaza, is set to open its doors to the public on Monday. La Fortuna will occupy a newly renovated space — the former location of Stella’s Restaurant — decorated with a charming Mediterranean flare. The menu will feature traditional Italian cuisine and brick oven pizza.

Owner File “Phyllis” Gjeka is both the master of cuisine and the restaurant’s founder. Gjeka’s husband, Aleks, will run the front of the house, and their three teenage children will also pitch in when their schedules permit.

Gjeka uses simple ingredients and traditional techniques that elevate — not mask — a dish’s focal point.
