Obituary: Ann Buzik Yurasek, 94, Formerly of Stratford

Ann Buzik Yurasek, 94, formerly of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Michael Yurasek, passed away on October 13, 2018 at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Florida, with her family by her side. Ann was born in Bridgeport on March 9, 1924 to the late John and Agatha (Miskaj) Buzik and has been a lifelong Stratford resident, before moving to Florida one year ago.

She was retired from Dresser Industries in Stratford. Ann was an avid bowler and a member of the Barnum Duckpin Bowling league, and also a member of the Ladies Guild, at Holy Name of Jesus Church.

Survivors include her beloved son, Michael Yurasek and his wife Helene of Venice, Florida, her cherished granddaughters, Kyla Yanez (Carlos) of Miami, Florida and Stephanie Yurasek (Adam) of Westchester and also Rachel Kovach of Naugatuck, who was like her third grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was pre-deceased by her brother, John Buzik.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at Holy Name of Jesus Church 1950 Barnum Avenue Stratford. Inurnment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make a donation in memory of Ann, to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
