Obituary: Antonina Bilski, 90, Of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Antonina Bilski, 90, of Stratford, beloved wife of Jan Bilski, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 25, 2024.

Antonina was born in Poland on June 13, 1933, to the late Franciszek and Czeslawa (Wiercinska) Wojenski. She immigrated to America with her husband and two young daughters in 1964 and had been a longtime resident of Stratford. She retired from the Bic Pen Corporation.

She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She loved flowers and nature, with the yellow rose being her most favorite flower. She enjoyed maintaining her many rose bushes and violet plants.

She enjoyed her walks on Short Beach in Stratford, and the family get-togethers at Hammonasset Beach State Park. She enjoyed walking and hiking, with hikes at Sleeping Giant State Park being one of her most favorite spots to enjoy nature. She loved music, was an avid reader, and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.

Survivors, in addition to her beloved husband of 66 years, include her devoted children; Elizabeth Martin (John) of Chandler, Arizona, Yola Arpino (Al Ozols) of East Haven, and John Bilski of Fairfield; 6 cherished grandchildren, Travis Martin, Joelle Martin, Tina Arpino (Matthew Lendroth), Renee Arpino (William), Jack Bilski and Tess Bilski, great-granddaughter, Mikayla Arpino, who shares the same birthday, a brother, Piotr Wojenski (Theresa) and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Antonina was pre-deceased by her brothers Czeslaw, Jan, Aleksander, Franciszek and Feliks Wojenski, and sisters, Nikodema Sokolowski and Helena Poplawska.
