A woman ahead of her time, she studied at the Notre Dame College of Staten Island and graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing in Manhattan. In her early years she worked as a pediatric registered nurse until she met the love of her life, married and settled in Stamford, CT to raise their family. An ardent disciple of nutritionist, Adele Davis, she espoused the benefits of improved health through good nutrition, a tenet that carried her well into her nineties. A master cook, knitter and avid reader, she created a welcoming home filled with love, wonderful food, books and good company.
After their children left home, she continued to embrace life with a boundless zest and curiosity, traveling around the world with her husband. She took flying lessons and went to work as a realtor with William Pitt in Stamford. In her later years she continued to live her life with a quiet grace and elegance, and never stopped learning. She attended lectures at Fairfield University, practiced yoga and swam well into her nineties.
