Obituary: Donald Robert LaRoche Sr., 64, Of Stratford

Don was a retired butcher, getting his start at the Mohegan Meat Market. As a teenager, he was part of the sea scouts program.

STRATFORD. CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Donald Robert LaRoche Sr., 64, of Stratford, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in his home. Born in Bridgeport on October 1, 1958 to the late Raymond and Doris (Hamilton) LaRoche, he has been a lifelong area resident.

Don was a retired butcher, getting his start at the Mohegan Meat Market. As a teenager, he belonged to the sea scouts program and loved his time spent on the water. He loved to fish and would often spend hours on the banks of the Housatonic River casting his lines.

Don enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and shooting pool. Don was an avid sports fan of the New York Yankees, New York Jets, New York Knicks, and recently became a big hockey fan, and loved to watch the New York Rangers.

Don enjoyed visiting St. Mary’s by the Sea in Black Rock where he would enjoy conversations and the beautiful scenery.

Survivors include his devoted children, Donald R. LaRoche Jr of Thomaston, Patrick LaRoche and his wife Lori of Shelton, Timothy LaRoche and his wife Gina of Southbury, and Bethany Freeman and her husband Jason of Milford. His cherished grandchildren, Dillon, Deven, Lillian, Scarlett, Stella, Nico and Theo. Nieces and nephews, Nicole, Ronald, Amanda and Jennifer.
