Obituary: Donald A. Smith, 75, of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT - (From Adzima Funeral Home) Donald A. Smith, age 75, of Stratford, beloved husband of Elizabeth Sciarappa Smith, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in Bridgeport Hospital on April 11, 2022.

Donald was born in Bridgeport on November 11, 1946, to the late Rudolph and Elizabeth (Johnson) Smith and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was a retired supervisor for SBC.

Don enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially their spring trips to Florida, and loved walking his best buddy, Toby.

He was an avid sailor and a member and Past Commodore of the Housatonic Boat Club.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 52 years, include his devoted daughters, Donna Hollis (Jerry) of East Hartford and Tricia Smith (Carey) of Wallingford, three cherished grandchildren, Taylor, Jake and Ryan, a sister, Judith Lundeen and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, April 19th from 3-6 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home. 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.

There will be a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. followed by military honors.
