Obituary: Dorothy M. Chrostek, 36, Of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Dorothy Marie (Meczykowski) Chrostek, 36, of Stratford, the beloved wife of Andrew Chrostek, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 3 p.m. in St. Vincent Medical Center.

Born in Bridgeport on December 16, 1986, to Janina (Brudniak) Meczykowski and the late Anthony F. Meczykowski, she has been a lifelong Stratford area resident.

Dorothy was a graduate of Bunnell High School Class of 2005 and later went to the University of New Haven, majoring in music Industry. She was a photographer, piano, accordion and guitar player. She was also a writer and a poet. She was a part of the Polish Folk Dance Group Orleta and belonged to the Polish Falcons Nest 36.

She modeled for Vidal Sassoon, played extras in movies, and did numerous plays in High School and College.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew, mom, Janina, mom-in-law Halina Bender, uncle Piotr Brudniak, uncle, John Roman and his wife Frances of Virginia and cousins: Wesley Krol, Sarah and her husband Andrew Nemergut, June Roman, James Roman and his wife Sara and her best friend Holly Guimares. Dorothy is also survived by a large family in Poland.

She was a loving and caring young woman who loved animals and was an avid reader of all kinds of books. She will be dearly missed by many.
