George Chapman Bartram, 100, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Mary (Murphy) Bartram passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 in Saint Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.
George was born in the village of Walden, New York, son of the late Albert and Sarah (Chapman) Bartram and had been a Stratford resident for over 50 years.

He attended Connecticut State Trade School in the early 1930’s and was a retired blue collar worker for the General Electric Company where he retired after 44 years of service.
He was a decorated World War II army veteran, serving 13 months in France and received five medals from the United States Army and three more from France.

Survivors include his devoted nieces and nephews Susan Turney, Daniel Turney, Edward & Jean Palmer, Wayne and Marie Palmer, Shauna Quigley-Blaze.
