Obituary: Georgine Elizabeth Arpie, 61, of Stratford

Georgine Elizabeth Arpie, 61, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Bridgeport Hospital after a courageous battle with ALS. She was the devoted wife of 37 years to Gerard Arpie. Born in Bridgeport on February 22, 1957 she was the daughter of the late Harry “Hank” and Genevieve Snyder Morris. Georgine worked for Genox in medical billing office for many years until her illness.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, she had a kind heart and was loved by all. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially the beach, reading a good book and cooking for her family and spending time with her beloved dogs. She will be sadly missed by all, in addition to her husband Gerard, she is survived by her loving children; Gerard Arpie of Stratford, Sam Arpie of Stratford, Aubrey Dodge and her husband Dan of Agawam, MA and Lorraine Addorisio and her husband Marc of Stratford. She is also survived by her brother, Harry Morris and her grandson, Leo Addorisio as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, many cousins and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her bothers; Danny and Bobby Goodwin.

The hours of visitation will be held, Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 1 to 4 pm at the Dennis & D’Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Rawls officiating.
