Henry Ryan, 99, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Shirley (Sheehan) Ryan passed, away Sunday, December 3, 2017 in the Hewitt Memorial Nursing Facility, Shelton.
Mr. Ryan was born April 18, 1918 in Bridgeport, son of the late Thomas and Marguerite (Kelly) Ryan and was a lifetime area resident.

He was a graduate of Central High School, a United States Army Veteran of World War II and was a retired typesetter. He enjoyed fishing and was an FCC Licensed Registered Amateur Radio Operator.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Sharon Orsini and her husband Gerald of Shelton; four grandchildren, Kimberley Cody and her husband James of Stratford, Bonnie Boyle and her husband Timothy of Fairfield, Kristy Lechtenberg and her husband Adam of Blacksburg, VA., and Jennifer Balogh and her husband Nathan of Fairfield; nine great-grandchildren, Mike and Brett Cody, Kyle, Kaleigh and Griffin Boyle, Madison Lectenberg, Jake, Drew and Allison Balogh; two sisters, Marie Wilson of Shelton and Genevieve Moran of Cheshire and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Thomas M. Ryan; a daughter, Patricia M. Ryan and a brother, James Ryan.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Monsignor Martin P. Ryan on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 am by meeting directly at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
Friends may visit with his family Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT.
