Obituary: Howard H. Beers Jr., 72, Lifelong Stratford Resident
Beers, a U.S. Navy veteran, had a passion for outdoors, he was a self-employed commercial fisherman for many years and enjoyed hunting.

Howard Hotchkiss Beers Jr., 72, a lifelong Stratford, resident passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the West Haven Veterans Hospital . He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth (Betty) Baker Beers for 45 years.
Born in Bridgeport on October 20, 1944 he was a son of the late Howard H. Beers Sr. and Leona LaFontaine Beers. Mr. Beers was a proud US Navy veteran serving his country during the Vietnam Era.

He had a passion for outdoors, he was a self-employed commercial fisherman for many years and enjoyed hunting. He was also the past Exalted Ruler of the Milford Elks.
In addition to his loving wife Betty he is survived by his son Charles Beers and his wife Erica of Milford and his grandchildren Christopher and Sophia Beers also of Milford. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Beers of Las Vegas, NV.

The hours of visitation will held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm at the Dennis & D’Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. All other services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to National Stroke Association at www.stroke.org.
