Obituary: James M. Sheridan, Of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — (From Pistey Funeral Home): Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, James M. Sheridan, passed away on December 8, 2022. Jim was the most loving husband to his best friend and wife of 52 years, Carol Sheridan formerly of Harrison, NY. He was the proud and loving father of James Sheridan Jr. (daughter in-law Eva) and Susan Sheridan Richardson (son in-law Ken Richardson) and devoted grandfather to James Sheridan III, Robert Sheridan, and Madilyn Richardson.

Jim’s family came first in everything he did and they were his pride and joy. Jim was born in Bridgeport, CT to George and Evelyn Sheridan. He grew up in a loving household in Stratford, CT with his three loving brothers, Lee, Tom and Brian, and his Grandma Lee.

Jim enjoyed a long and successful career, rising through the ranks at People’s Bank to the level of first vice president. Jim was an avid reader, life-long learner, and trivia buff. Jim loved playing tennis with his wife and friends, golfing and playing cards with his circle of lifelong friends and taking on many adventures throughout his life including boating, skiing, and bicycling with his family.

Jim was a member of the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Burns Care Foundation, and Zoning Board in Stratford, CT. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all that knew him.
