Obituary: John ‘Jack’ Shea Toth, 77; Formerly Of Stratford
A U.S. Army veteran, he built a successful business, New England Food Service, which led to his legacy as "Jack the Coffeeman."

STRATFORD, CT — (From Dennis & D'Arcy Funeral Home): John "Jack" Shea Toth, 77, of Port Charlotte, FL, previously Stratford, CT and Wells, VT passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024 surrounded by his family due to congestive heart failure. He was the beloved husband of Carol Long Toth for 55 years.
Jack was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 8, 1946. As a patriotic American he volunteered in the Army with his lifelong friend, Charlie Buzzell in 1964.
Upon returning from Germany, he went back to his East Side of Bridgeport roots and built a successful business, New England Food Service, which led to his legacy as “Jack the Coffeeman.”

Jack married Carol in 1968 and they had 4 children. He is predeceased by his son Thomas and survived by his daughters Jennifer (Darien), Sandra (Sean) and son John (Daphne). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Gussie, Rheaona, Allison, Branden, Taylor, Marissa, Avery, Victoria, Shea, John "Jack" and Darin. He also leaves behind many special nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by both his parents, his twin brother Joe, sisters Joan and Arlene.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s honor may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
