Obituary: Kathleen M. Spillane, 84, Of Stratford
A lifelong Stratford resident, she was a retired nursing supervisor at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

STRATFORD, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Kathleen M. Spillane, 84, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Emmett M. Spillane Sr., passed away on November 9, 2022, in St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.
Kathleen was born in Bridgeport on February 15, 1938, to the late Edwin and Catherine (McCarthy) Gerwien and had been a lifelong Stratford resident. She was a graduate Stratford High School and St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. She was a retired nursing supervisor at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Survivors include her devoted children, daughter-in-law Patti Spillane of Stratford, Patty Gallagher and her husband Sean of Stratford, Maureen Rooney and her husband Jim of Milford, Sean Spillane of Bridgeport, and Brian Spillane of Stratford, her cherished grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Skowronski, Brendan Gallagher, Jack and Erin Spillane, and Liam and Declan Spillane and their mother Patrice; 2 great grandchildren, Audrey and Chase, brother, Edwin Gerwien and his wife Jane of Stratford, sister, Patty Panda of Trumbull, sister-in-law, Rosemarie Rhodes of Beacon Falls, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Kathleen was pre-deceased by her son, Emmett M. Spillane Jr., her brother, Robert Gerwien, and her brother-in-law Dr. Raymond Panda. Kathleen’s family would like to thank the St Vincent’s staff on 10 North, as well as the staff of Davita in Stratford for their loving care.
Friends and family may visit on Monday, November 14, 2022, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 15 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at St. James Church 2070 Main Street Stratford. Interment will be private.
