Obituary: Linda (Denzel) DePeano, 65, of Stratford

Linda (Denzel) DePeano, 65, of Lordship, the beloved wife of 44 years to Gary C. DePeano, Sr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born in Bridgeport to the late Wallace and Imogene “Jean” Denzel and was a lifelong Stratford resident. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1969 and married her soulmate, Gary, soon after.

Linda attended Butler Business School and worked in the Human Resource Department for Quasar as well as the RHD Group Home. She was very involved with her children’s activities and was once the girls’ cheerleader coach for Pop Warner in Stratford. She loved trips to the casinos, especially weekends in Atlantic City and enjoyed crafting and going to tag sales to hunt for antiques.

In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by her loving daughters, Christy and Jennifer DePeano, both of Lordship; her son, Gary C. DePeano, Jr. and his wife, Sara of Stratford; as well as her brother, Walter “Bo” Denzel and his wife, Susan of Lordship; her grandson, Ryan; her nieces, Cindy and Melissa; nephews, Wally, Jr., Timmy and Jaime; many other loving relatives and last but not least, her faithful cat, Mickey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Denzel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linda’s memory to the Our Lady of Peace Sanctuary Fund, 651 Stratford Rd., Stratford, CT 06615.
