Obituary: Linda Nimeth St. Onge, 73, Of Stratford
Linda had a lifelong passion for music and was awarded a scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music. She was a cantor at St. James Church.
STRATFORD, CT — (From Pistey Funeral Home): Linda Nimeth St. Onge, 73, of Stratford, died on Friday, December 2, 2022.
She was the daughter of the late Bernardo and Sophie Nimeth and a graduate of Stratford High School and Sacred Heart.
Linda had a lifelong passion for music and was awarded a scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music. A gifted singer, she was a competitor in the Barnum Festival's Jenny Lind competition.

Linda had also been a cantor at St. James Church. Linda retired from the State of Connecticut Judicial branch in Bridgeport where she worked in family relations.
Survivors include her husband, Peter St Onge; son, Shawn Welch; grandchildren, Brandon, Julian Skylynn and Jeremy; great-grandson, Avery; sister, Mary Jane Sjursen; brother, Bernard Nimeth; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Dina Welch; and a sister, Sophie Nimeth.

Friends may call on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main St., Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Peter Adamski on Friday at 11 AM at Saint James Church. Interment at Union cemetery.
