Mary-Lynn was a graduate of Tuft’s University, her father’s alma mater. She majored in biochemistry and minored in English. She subsequently worked in cancer research, and was published, for her participation in clinical trials at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute in New York. Later in life she worked as a purchasing specialist for Pitney Bowes, a position that allowed her to utilize her strong analytical skills and acumen for numbers, until her retirement in 2005.
Mary-Lynn was the mother of 4 children who loved her greatly and supported her fully—Michael Brett, Evelyn, Celeste, and Leo. Together with her children she travelled the world, moving to Kuwait in 1976. While in Kuwait, the family enjoyed visiting many countries throughout Europe. Mary-Lynn instilled a sense of adventure and learning in her children that allowed them to explore foreign cultures, learn from them, and share their own culture as well.

As her children grew, she loved to attend their sporting events or school productions and rarely missed one. And, whether it be swimming in the lake or pool in the summer or ice skating in the winter, outdoor time was a must.
Her children remember her as an amazing cook who, like her grandmother, loved to prepare family meals and holiday gatherings. Each holiday was steeped in tradition. When entertaining she would “roll out the red carpet”, ensure that the table was perfectly set, and hors d’oeuvres were ready when family and guests arrived. She was a meticulous homemaker who enjoyed the art of interior design and creating a beautiful home brought her great pride. As a seamstress, her children remembered fanciful Halloween costumes and tailored school clothes. Gardening and the beauty of flowers were always apparent as you approached her home. She was also a firm believer in rescuing her pets. As long as there was room at the inn, a pet in need would always be welcomed into the family
Mary-Lynn’s faith was a central part of her life and brought her great comfort, joy, and peace. She was an active participant of St. James Church in Stratford and, in recent years, would occasionally attend St. Mary Church in Branford with her family.
Generosity was a big part of her heart. She would give of her time and her resources to someone in need. After retirement you could find her volunteering for the Agency on Aging, an agency that gave her great comfort in recent years.
Mary-Lynn adored her children and grandchildren. Any time they gathered it was a treat and she would beam with joy. Whether it was a quiet chat on the back porch, a trip to the diner, or a fancy party you know she was having fun.
Mary-Lynn will be remembered for her beauty, strong sense of faith, and the ability to overcome adversity with grace and love of family.
Mary-Lynn was predeceased by her beloved mother, Evelyn, father Kenneth, and brother Kenton; she is survived by her 4 loving children: Brett (Maria) Kubisek of Stamford, Evelyn (Richard) Agamie of Branford, Celeste (Sarah) of Stratford, and Leo (Dawn) of New Milford; her 5 adored grandchildren: Antonia, Michael, Emilie, Emily, and Christian; her dear nieces and nephews: Karen, Kenneth, Kevin, and Kathy, and her beloved rescue dog Ming.
