Obituary: Melitta Brockert, 99, Of Stratford; Dedicated Piano Teacher
She inspired a great number of piano students, many of whom went on to become professional musicians and music teachers themselves.

STRATFORD, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Melitta Brockert, 99, of Stratford, a dedicated piano teacher, beloved mother of Irene, Alex and Vera, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born on Oct. 18, 1922, in Kiev, Ukraine to the late Andrey Aristov and Maria (von Nolken) Aristov, she came to the United States in 1951 as a World War II refugee.
A Stratford resident since 1961, she inspired a great number of piano students, many of whom went on to become professional musicians and music teachers themselves. Mrs. Brockert studied piano at the renowned Conservatory of Music in Kiev. Her mother, also a pianist, studied at the Conservatory of Music in St Petersburg. Her father was a soloist at the Taras Shevchenko National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine.

Mrs. Brockert, her husband and mother were active members of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church serving in various leaderships roles including, Church Counsel, Sisterhood and Brotherhood, the choir and Russian school.
She is survived by her children, Irene Brockert of Berlin, Germany, Alex (Lori) Brockert and Vera (Kevin) Tisdall of Milford; grandchildren Jessica (Donald) Pisacane and Jaime (Steve) Jimenez of Milford; great-grandchildren Ryan, Joshua, Ava and Olivia Pisacane, Steven and Braydon Jimenez and Lily Brockert daughter of Leanna Mackin all of Milford. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Waldemar Brockert and her cherished grandson, Thomas Brockert.

Requiem Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, One Honeyspot Road, Stratford. Internment will be in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Pannikhida on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the church.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to a scholarship fund for promising music students (details to be announced at a later date). The Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
