Obituary: Michael H. Griffin Jr., 75, of Stratford

Michael H. Griffin Jr., 75, of Stratford, beloved husband of Debra Murphy, passed away on January 16, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital. Michael was born in the Bronx, NY son of the late Michael H. Griffin Sr. and Caroline Barbato Griffin and has been a longtime Stratford resident. He was a graduate of Stratford High School Class of 1961.

Michael was retired from the Town of Stratford as the Chief Municipal Animal Control Officer. He was an avid musician and a lifelong drummer, playing with several local bands through the years. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, include three sons, Debra’s daughters, Amy (Jim) Bohn, Jennifer (Larry) Dwyer, and Katie Zera, 5 grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Joan Murphy, his siblings, Deborah Griffin, Leonard (Linda) Griffin, Adele (Thomas) Griffin and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet Michael’s family on Sunday, January 21st from 2-5 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A prayer service will be held at 4:15 p.m. Interment will be private.
