Obituary: Peter A. Franz, 82, Of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Peter A. Franz, 82, of Stratford, passed away on May 31, 2023, at Bridgeport Hospital. Peter was born in Dessau Germany on February 20, 1941, to the late Dr. Anselm and Dagmar Franz and has been a longtime Stratford resident. He was a graduate of Stratford High School and the University of Bridgeport.

Peter’s professional career spanned several decades working for Avco/Textron-Lycoming, Sikorsky Aircraft, and his own venture, AeroAudit.

Peter was an athlete and risk-taking thrill seeker who enjoyed playing many sports, including his favorites, skiing, surfing, tennis, and track. He was also an accomplished artist, car enthusiast, a great storyteller, and loved singing karaoke. He was principled, authentic, a perfectionist, and a true gentleman.

He had an infectious positive spirit and appreciated all he had, good or bad, and was devoted to his family.

Survivors include his devoted children, Sandra O’Leary of Stratford, Raymond [Lori] Franz of Trumbull, and Alexandra Franz of Groton, as well as cherished grandchildren, Megan O’Leary, Ryan O’Leary, Morgan Franz, Marshall Franz, and beloved dog Rado. He was predeceased by his sister, Monica Lee of Massachusetts.
