Rachel Shumyhora, 25, of Stratford, beloved fiancé of Joseph Penzerro, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 23, 2017. Rachel was born February 12, 1992 in Bridgeport, daughter of Walter and Susan (Mackbach) Shumyhora and had been a lifetime area resident.
Rachel was a graduate of Stratford High School and a waitress at Jimmy’s of Savin Rock. Rachel always enjoyed a good cup of iced coffee and being silly with her family and friends, but mostly she loved doting on and spending time with her children, who meant the world to her.

Survivors, in addition to Joe and her parents, include her three adored children, Alanah, Joe Jr. and Aleeah; sister Jennifer Francis and her husband Dion; brother Justin Shumyhora and his fiancé Heather Cronk; paternal grandmother, Luba Shumyhora; nephew Dante; niece Madelyn and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 28. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a fund for her children at https://www.plumfund.com/memor... or through the funeral home.
