Obituary: Theresa Barbara Schorz Sajda, 80, Of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — (From Pistey Funeral Home): Theresa Barbara Schorz Sajda, 80, of Stratford, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

Theresa was born on March 26, 1942 to Henry and Annette Schorz in Bridgeport. After Theresa graduated from Stratford High School in 1960, she met at the Ritz ballroom and then married Joseph Stanley Sajda on October 20,1960.

Teresa spent over 30 dedicated years volunteering for the Stratford EMS and teaching EMT certification courses. She has also worked in a pediatrician’s office, Bridgeport Hospital, emergency room, and as a clerk for many years for the Connecticut court system.

Theresa was pre-deceased by both her parents; her husband, Joseph Stanley Sajda; and her great granddaughter, Hannah Landon. She is survived by her brother, Henry Schorz, and his wife, Kathleen of California; children, Joseph Sajda, III of Woodbury, Tamra Weeks, and her husband, Shawn of Canton, Timothy Sajda, and his wife, Sarah of Florida and Nicholas Sajda and his wife, Mary of Stratford; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and her beloved dogs, Buddy and Annie.

Friends may call on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. A funeral service will take place at 4:15 officiated by Rev. Rowena Kemp. Interment will be private.
