Obituary: Walter ‘Guy’ Stelmack Jr., 69, Of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — (From Adzima Funeral Home): Walter “Guy” Stelmack Jr., 69, of Stratford, passed away on January 21, 2023, at Northbridge Health Center in Bridgeport.

Guy was born in Derby on June 10, 1953, to the late Walter and Barbara (Nichols) Stelmack Sr. and had been a longtime area resident.

He was a graduate of Bunnell High School, class of 1971, and was a retired Expediter for Belimo in Danbury.

Guy was an active member of Stratford PONY Baseball where he served as president, field director and coach for over 15 years and received the Joe E. Brown Award, one of the highest accolades bestowed by PONY Baseball.

He was also instrumental in starting Stratford’s Fall Baseball Program and the construction of the field house and concession stand at Clover Field.

For his years of service, he was recognized by the Town of Stratford’s Park and Recreation Committee with a certificate of appreciate presented by the mayor.

Guy was also an avid music fan and enjoyed attending concerts at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Katie Stelmack.
