Obituary: William Olender, 74, of Stratford
Bill, a self-employed Steel Engraver, was a veteran of the Connecticut Army National Guard and an avid fisherman.

William Olender, 74, of Stratford, beloved husband of Angelika Thoeny Olender, passed away on January 20, 2018 in his home. Bill was born in Bridgeport on August 24, 1943 beloved son of Elizabeth (Jarusinsky) Olender of Stratford and the late John S. Olender, and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Harding High School Class of 1961 and was a self-employed Steel Engraver.
Bill was a veteran of the Connecticut Army National Guard. He was an avid fisherman, and was a lifetime member of Fayerweather Yacht Club and a member of the Fairfield County Fish and Game Club.

Survivors in addition to his mother and beloved wife of almost 50 years include his devoted sons, Timothy Olender, and William Olender and his wife Brie all of Stratford, his grand-dogs, Kali and Kobi, 2 brothers, Raymond A. Olender of Arkansas, and John J. Olender and his wife Linda of Windsor, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 24th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11 a.m. in St. Mark’s Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 9a.m. –10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make a donation in Bill’s memory to the American Cancer Society 825 Brooks St Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to St. Mark Church.
