Pay Raise, Contract Extension Approved For Stratford Superintendent

The Stratford Board of Education approved the contract extension at a recent special meeting.

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Board of Education last week approved a one-year contract extension for Superintendent Uyi Osunde that will keep him in the position for at least another three years, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports the board voted 4-3 to approve the contract extension that now runs through June 30, 2025, and a pay raise that includes a base salary of $220,000 for the 2022-2023 fiscal year and salaries of $225,500 and $231,138 in the following years, respectively.

Board members Andrea Corcoran, Lisa Carroll-Fabian, Amy Wiltsie and Janice Cupee voted in favor of the new contract, while Kristen Bedell, Mike Henrick, and Sean Kennedy were opposed, according to minutes of the meeting.

The Post previously reported Osunde’s initial three-year contract said the school board, at Osunde’s request, could vote on whether to offer him a new contract before the end of the first year.
