Popular Pizzeria Closes Abruptly In Stratford
The pizzeria, known for its "garage-fired" pizzas served in a unique environment, was officially closed as of Wednesday.
STRATFORD, CT — A popular pizzeria known for its “garage-fired” pizzas served out of a vintage former gas station has closed abruptly in Stratford.
PizzaCo, located at 1625 Stratford Ave. just across the street from Two Roads Brewing Company, announced Wednesday that it was permanently closed.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of our location here in Stratford,” reads a post on the pizzeria’s Facebook page. “We want to thank all of our wonderful guests and employees for supporting us over the past 7 years. We are extremely grateful that so many of you embraced our restaurant and we hope to see you again soon in another location!”

PizzaCo opened in April 2017 and quickly became popular for its brick-oven pizzas served in a “uniquely cool environment.”
“A spin on Neapolitan, PizzaCo makes creative and seasonally-inspired ‘garage-fired’ pizzas in our Italian-built brick oven and delivers a craft beer, cocktail and wine bar experience – all from the uniquely cool environment of a former vintage gas station’s garage,” reads a post on its website.
