Police Seize Rifle, $18K and 260 Grams of Cocaine in Drug Bust in Stratford

Police completed an investigation into reported cocaine sales in local bars with the arrest of a 56-year-old man, who is a convicted felon.

STRATFORD, CT — Investigators from the Stratford Narcotics Vice and Intelligence Unit completed an investigation into alleged cocaine sales in local bars with the arrest of Evaristo Castro, who is a convicted felon, according to police.

Stratford Police seized an SKS Rifle, approximately $18,749 and 260 grams of cocaine in the arrest, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti.

Police secured an arrest warrant for Castro, 56, as well as a search warrant for his home in the 200 block of Putnam Street in Bridgeport

Eannotti said Castro was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Dec. 6 and the search warrant was executed immediately thereafter with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Department.

Castro was arrested on charges of sale of cocaine, criminal possession of a firearm and operating a drug factory.

Castro is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court on Dec. 16. He was held on a $250,000 dollar bond.
