Pro-Trump Boat Parade On Housatonic Set For Saturday

The boat parade will go through Orange, Shelton, Milford and Stratford before heading up the Long Island Sound to New Haven.

STRATFORD, CT — A boat parade to support President Donald Trump and the Blue Lives Matter movement is expected to draw hundreds Saturday in Stratford.

Nearly 600 people had confirmed plans to attend the parade as of mid-afternoon Friday on a Facebook event called “Trump And Blue Lives Matter boat parade.” Another 1,900 had expressed interest on Facebook in the event.

The parade will begin 10:15 a.m. at Wooster Island in Orange, arriving 11 a.m. at the Devon Bridge bordering Milford and Stratford, reaching the break wall at the mouth of the river at noon, and heading up the Long Island Sound to the New Haven break wall, before circling back to Charles Island in Milford.

“Saturday September 12, let’s get together and support our president and our police departments,” the Facebook event description said.

Just under 200 people had also confirmed on Facebook plans to participate in a car brigade from Seymor to Stratford to watch the parade. A watch party on the Devon Bridge and nearby dock and boardwalk was also planned, with 22 people confirmed on Facebook to attend.

The boat parade is not the only pro-Trump event planned for Saturday on the water in Connecticut. A rally is also set to take place on Lake Zoar in Southbury.
