WTNH.com is reporting that Stella Antanantis, 91, was attacked by her own dog, a keeshound mix, in her kitchen on Friday and was able to call 9-1-1 herself after what was described as a very violent scene.
Police told WTNH that Antanantis owned the dog since it was a puppy and has had it for eight years and by all accounts it had been a great dog and the attack apparently came out of nowhere.
The dog is in custody of Animal Control until the investigation is concluded, according to WTNH.
