Road Closure Announced For Bridge Installation In Stratford

The road will be closed due to construction activity related to the project.

STRATFORD, CT — Due to construction activity related to the Stratford High School project, King Street south of Barnum Avenue (in the area of Stratford High School) will be closed to through traffic beginning at 3 p.m. on June 7 and could remain closed through June 19, according to Mayor Laura Hoydick.

“All places of business and residences in this area will remain accessible and open,” Hoydick wrote in a post on Facebook. “A road closure plan has been approved by the town and will remain in effect until this construction is completed. If this work is completed prior to the 19th the road will be reopened sooner.”

Questions about the closure can be addressed to Public Safety Consultant Larry Ciccarelli, lciccarelli@townofstratford.com

The pedestrian bridge that will connect the two halves of Stratford High School is scheduled to be lifted in place and installed over King Street on June 8 at 10 a.m.

“If you would like to observe the bridge installation, please remember that school is in session that day so parking lots at the school are off limits to the general public,” Hoydick said.
