STRATFORD, CT — Officials are advising residents of a scam that has been reported in Stratford.

Scammers are impersonating town officials regarding applications and public‑hearing fees, according to officials.

“The Town of Stratford will never request payments via wire transfer or payment apps (Venmo, Zelle, CashApp),” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “Do not share personal information or send any payment. Verify any communication with the Zoning Department at 203‑385-4017 and report suspected scams to the Stratford Police non-emergency line at 203‑385-4100.”
