Sikorsky To Launch New Experimental Helicopter: Report
The Stratford-based company hopes military leaders like what they see.
STRATFORD, CT — Stratford-based Sikorsky Aircraft is putting the final touches on an experimental new helicopter that it plans to test in the first half of 2018 that it hopes will be an in-demand military item, reports the Connecticut Post.
Sikorsky is in competition with Bell Helicopter and others in coming up with the Department of Defense's next mainstay aircraft.
The new helicopter will feature a "pusher propeller" in the rear, which will help propel the helicopter forward at greater speeds.
