Sikorsky Plans To Lay Off 179 Workers In Connecticut: Report

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford-based Sikorsky is planning on laying off nearly 180 employees in Connecticut, according to multiple reports.

WTNH News 8 reports Sikorsky will be laying off 179 employees within its business segment.

A Sikorsky spokesperson said several major programs are progressing into production and won’t need the same level of support, according to WTNH.

NBC Connecticut reports Sikorsky intends to “retain as many people as possible” to fill the company’s business-critical positions that are required to support urgent national security missions.
