State Representative Laura Hoydick, of Stratford, Receives Independent Party Endorsement

Connecticut Independent Party cites Hoydick's legislative record in endorsement.

Republican State Representative Laura Hoydick, who represents the 120th District in the Connecticut General Assembly, earned the endorsement of the Connecticut Independent Party, citing her strong independent background and legislative record.

Hoydick, a long-time citizen volunteer and dedicated advocate was first elected to the CT General Assembly in March of 2010, and represents the 120th State House Distinct of Stratford.

“The Independent Party of Connecticut is proud to endorse Laura Hoydick in her re-election to the General Assembly, and we strongly believe her record of experience in both the private and public sector will continue to serve the people well,” said Stephen Harding, a spokesman for the Connecticut Independent Party. “Laura represents what you want to see in a state representative – she performs her due-diligence, is pro-active and works for the greater good of Connecticut.”

The Independent Party’s endorsement means Hoydick’s name will appear on two lines on the November 4th general election ballot. Voters may vote for Hoydick on either the Republican line or on the Independent line of the ballot.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement from the Independent Party of Connecticut for my efforts to put people first and party politics aside to help solve the immense economic and fiscal challenges that we face,” said Hoydick. “As elected officials, we’re charged to build consensus on important issues by providing common-sense leadership for everyone we represent.”

Hoydick, a Stratford native, serves as ranking member of the Legislature’s Energy and Technology Committee and serves as a member of the Banks and Children’s Committees.

Hoydick is a property manager for Winstanley Enterprises. Since 1997 she has served the Town of Stratford in an elected capacity as Chairman of the Board of Education and as a Planning Commissioner, and continues to serve the town in a volunteer capacity for both Perry House Foundation and Sterling House Community Center.
