Stratford Amazon Facility To Open In May, Create Over 100 Jobs

The company has also announced hiring events throughout the month for its Stratford location.

STRATFORD, CT — Amazon's new distribution facility in Stratford is projected to open in May and create more than 100 jobs, according to a town official.

"We're just so excited for the opening," Director of Economic Development Mary Dean said. "... And they're excited to be here."

The Seattle-based e-commerce giant signed a seven-year lease in 2019 for two buildings at 500 Long Beach Blvd. and 600 Long Beach Blvd., where it will operate a roughly 200,000-square-foot distribution facility. Dean has referred to the Stratford location as a "last-mile stop" for Amazon, and said outgoing deliveries will only travel about an hour at most to reach their destinations.

The company has announced several job information sessions throughout the month in Bridgeport. Dean said two additional March recruitment events are planned at the Baldwin Center in Stratford, with details to come. A February session in Stratford about Amazon's delivery service partner program drew nearly 200 people.
