Stratford Announces Coronavirus Beach Rules
The beaches will be open to residents only. Police will be stationed at the beach and residents are asked to bring their own hand sanitizer.
STRATFORD, CT — With Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of summer falling in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, the town of Stratford has issued its plans for beach goers.
“With Memorial Day weekend arriving, we still want residents to be able to enjoy the outdoors and the great beach facilities we have available here in Stratford,” Mayor Laura Hoydick said in a news release. “I hope that despite the challenges of the times we are in, that everyone in town that wants to enjoy our beaches will do so while being mindful of social distancing, safety and common sense. This is a weekend for all to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our nation, and to enjoy time with our families.”
Beaches will be open between 8 a.m. and dusk to Stratford residents only. Residents will need to have a valid parking sticker or demonstrate resident status. Beach concessions and restrooms will be open and lifeguards will be on duty.
