Stratford Baseball Team Shuts Down Rival Bunnell: Stratford High School Sports Roundup

The Stratford baseball and girls lacrosse teams both picked up victories in games this week.

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford baseball team defeated cross-town rival Bunnell 15-0 on Wednesday, April 22 at Bunnell High School.

Junior Jack Wiltsie was dominant on the mound with a complete-game shutout. Julien Rivera, Max Owen and Wiltsie led the offensive attack with each recording multiple hits. Cody Gallant, Josh Tiberio, Elijah Jimenez, Evan Wendland and Jaykell Hernandez also contributed hits in the win.

Stratford will host Brookfield on Friday, April 24 at 4:15 p.m. at Penders Field.

The Stratford girls lacrosse team defeated New Milford 14-2 on Tuesday. Samantha D'Aloia led the team in points with seven and eight different players scored goals in the victory (Sophie Estrella, Sophie Jackson, Audrey North, Kiara Moreno, Payton Farrell and Sophie DeLise).

Peighton Salerno also had eight saves in just her second start as goalie.

Next up, they will travel to Pomperaug High School on Thursday, April 23 for a 7 p.m. matchup.
